What does 5X stand for?
The name 5X is a nod to our roots in Bhangra. The “5” in 5X refers to Punj and Punjab. The “X” in 5X is just a cool letter! But it can also stand for ‘experience’, a multiplier effect, or even the intersection of east and west; old and new - and our hybrid identities!
Is it all-ages?
Blockparty, Art Party & Self-Care Sunday are all-ages events! Everyone is welcome to attend. All attendees aged 12 and under are eligible for a free ticket on our ticketing page. They must be accompanied by an adult and must show proof of age on entry.
Please note that the 5X Afterparty is a 19+ event.
What if it rains?
All events, including Blockparty are rain or shine!
Can I get a refund?
All sales are final; no refunds will be issued. However, exceptions will be made if the event is cancelled due to public health orders. In such cases, tickets are fully refundable.
Can I transfer my ticket?
Yes, if you are unable to attend, you can transfer your ticket to another person. To transfer a ticket, log in to your Eventbrite or Showpass account and follow the instructions below.
For Showpass, go to My Orders, find the order you want to transfer, expand Order Options, and select Transfer to a Friend. Follow the verification process to complete the transfer.
For Eventbrite, go to Tickets, select your order, click Edit, and update the ticket information.
For more details, please review the customer support documentation linked here: Showpass Help and Eventbrite Help.
What should I bring (or not bring)?
Yourself, your good vibes, and anything else that makes you feel safe and secure. We just don’t allow any outside food or drinks.
Is there a coat or bag check?
There will not be a place to put your stuff down/store it away. Please don’t bring valuables. Everyone is responsible for their own belongings.
My fit is important. What should I wear?
Fam, you should wear whatever you feel the best in! There is no formal dress code for 5X, except we highly encourage you to put your personality into your fit.
Will there be food there?
Yes, most events will have food available. At Blockparty and Art Party, you'll find a dope selection of food trucks for you to choose from. At our Self-Care Sunday event, we will provide snacks and refreshments. Please note that no outside food or drinks are permitted.
How do I get to the events via transit?
All events are accessible via transit. Here's a quick rundown of the event locations and the closest transit stations. Depending on where you are coming from, there might be better routes and options available.
Blockparty: Surrey Civic Plaza is accessible via SkyTrain and bus. It’s a three-minute walk from Surrey Central Station and Bus Loop.
Self-Care Sunday: And-Co Offices is closest to Burrard Station, approximately a ten-minute walk away.
Art Party: The Beaumont studio is closest to Olympic Village Station, approximately an eight-minute walk away.
Afterparty: Location not public. It will be accessible via transit, but an Uber is likely the quickest and most convenient option.
Is there parking?
We highly recommend taking transit, especially to our Self-Care Sunday event located in Downtown Vancouver.
However, street parking is available at all events, and there are various parkades near our venues. Art Party and the Afterparty will have ample street parking. For Self-Care Sunday, the closest parkade is at the Westin Bayshore. Street parking may be limited.
For Blockparty, there is some street parking available, as well as a parkade located beneath Surrey City Hall and Civic Plaza. The parkade is in the block bounded by 104 Avenue, University Drive, 103 Avenue, and City Parkway.
Please check local parking restrictions and parkade hours.
